Zonal member attends a Tirupur District Zonal Meeting with a garland made from alcohol bottles

Tasmac shops in Tirupur are reported to be open for 24 hours everyday.


Tirupur: Tasmac shops in and around Tirupur district are now kept open for 24 hours everyday. The shops are continuously selling alcohol for 24 hours despite receiving complaints from the local people.

It is said that no action has been taken against the Tasmac shop owners even after making repeated complaints to District and Police officials.

Meanwhile, the Tirupur Municipality Zonal meeting happened today under the leadership of Municipal Head Thenmozhi.



To everyone's disbelief 5th ward member Ravichandran came to the meaning with a garland of alcohol bottles on him. Ravindran is said to have gone to the meeting with a garland of alcohol bottles as a way of protest against the illegal selling of alcohol at the Tasmac shops in Tirupur. This incident created tension at the meeting.

During the meeting, 5th ward member Ravichandran said that "Alcohol sales are happening in Dharapuram for 24 hours everyday and no action has been taken against it by the local authorities or police officials. That is why I came to the zonal meeting with the alcohol bottle garland requesting the officials to take immediate actions."
