Leopard enters town and attacks dogs and chickens: Forest department sets up cage

Coimbatore: Leopard entered town and attacks dogs and chickens. So people in that area are in a state of fear and panic and informed the forest department about it.

Forest department officers rushed to the spot and are investigating. Gandhinagar is located near the Madukkarai forest in Coimbatore. The movement of wildlife here has been frequent and in recent times and especially the movement of leopards has increased. The leopard also hunts dogs and sheep near settlements.

So far more than 10 sheep and dogs have been hunted by the leopard. The leopard strayed into the quarry office area at midnight yesterday and was sitting on the compound wall of a house. It was filmed by those in the house. The leopard on the compound wall of the house tried to hunt the dog kept in the house of Srinivasan.

But the dog continued to bark and the leopard left the dog and fled. A dog bitten by a leopard is in a life-threatening condition. The people of the area alleged that appropriate action was not taken even after informing the forest department about this.

The people of the area have also alleged that the leopard roaming in the area was attacking domestic animals like goats and dogs and that the forest department should take action to capture the leopard at the earliest. The forest department said that the Madukkarai forest department has set up a cage to catch the leopard and that steps are being taken to capture the leopard and transfer it to another forest.
