Bird flu has been prevented from entering Tamil Nadu: Minister of Animal Husbandry Udumalai Radhakrishnan
Coimbatore: Minister of Animal Husbandry Udumalai Radhakrishnan said that bird flu has been prevented from entering Tamil Nadu. In Nallampalli near Pollachi, and Seelakampatti Panchayat, a special program to provide free goats was held by the Government of Tamil Nadu in which Minister of Animal Husbandry Udumalai Radhakrishnan distributed free goats to 514 beneficiaries.
He later told reporters that all precautionary measures are being taken to prevent the spread of bird flu in Tamil Nadu. As well as vehicles coming in to Tamil Nadu are being actively monitored.


He said as far as Tamil Nadu is concerned, poultry farmers, broiler producers and Namakkal egg producers have given their full cooperation to the measures taken by the Department of Animal Husbandry to prevent the spread of bird flu and thus the chicken and eggs are continued to be transported to the neighboring states.
He added that the zoo, which is being built at the Thalaivasal, will be completed next month by the Chief Minister. He also said public can contact 1962 the Amma Ambulance in case of infections in their pets as the veterinarians will come to the spot and provide treatment. He said that this scheme is not available in any other state in the country.
