Coimbatore: District Collector flagged off a road safety awareness rally attended only by women in Coimbatore. The 32nd Road Safety Week is being held daily on behalf of the Tamil Nadu State Transport Department.
Today, the fourth day of the event was held at the Coimbatore Central Regional Transport Office with women and participating in the two-wheeler rally.
District Collector K. Rajamani attended the rally and hoisted the flag. The event was attended by a large number of police and regional transport officers.
The two-wheeler procession started from the Central Regional Transport Office and proceeded through Gandhipuram and arrived at the VOC ground.
This road safety awareness was created to raise awareness about the importance of motorists wearing helmets and to urge four-wheelers to wear seatbelts, including identifying high-risk areas and taking appropriate action to address the cause of accidents.
More than 300 women participated in the awareness rally.
