Coimbatore: Judge orders extension of custody of three accused, including Arulanantham involved in Pollachi rape case till March 3. Coimbatore Magistrate's Court has extended the judicial custody of three persons, including AIADMK leader Arulanantham, who was arrested by the CBI in the Pollachi rape case and lodged in the Salem jail till February 3.
The CBI, which has been investigating the case for the past one and a half years and arrested Pollachi AIADMK leader Arulanantham (34), Haron Paul (29) from Achipatti and Babu alias Bike Babu (27) from Vadugapalayam and they were imprisoned at Gobichettipalayam.
Arulanantham was alone taken into CBI custody and interrogated and he was remanded in custody. The three were produced before a magistrate court judge today with heavy security as their court custody ends today. The judge ordered the court to extend the custody of the three till February 3rd. Following that, a petition was filed on behalf of the CBI for permission to test their manhood. The judge hearing the case granted custody and three were rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital under heavy security.
