Public appreciate Murali for Guinness World Record for collecting maximum bank notes with star symbol in Pollachi
Coimbatore:Public appreciate Murali for getting into the Guinness World Record for collecting maximum bank notes with star symbol in Pollachi. Murali is from Ansari Road, Pollachi and is the Chairman of the Pollachi Antique Coin Collection Association.
He has been collecting antique coins and stamps for over 40 years. He has been collecting banknotes with the Star Code since 2006. At present, he has collected 26000 notes of 500,200,100,50 rupees notes.
His effort is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. An appreciation ceremony was held at the Rotary Arena on Palladam Road on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, volunteers, the Rotary Club and the general public for adding Pollachi to the Guinness Book of World Records for the collection of currency notes with stars. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, who was present at the event, honoured Guinness World Record holder Murali.


He also displayed his collections of Indian coins issued over 2500 years ago, coins of the British East India Company Madras province with Tamil characters and banknotes issued in Tamil during the French period (in Pondicherry) and various types of coins and banknotes. Public who attended enjoyed the exhibition greatly appreciated his efforts.
