Coimbatore:Two arrested and gutka worth Rs 1 lakh seized from Lorrypettai, Coimbatore.
Large quantities of banned narcotics, including gutka, are brought to Coimbatore district from Karnataka and other states for sale. It is alleged that drugs are being sold targeting college students and North Indians.
Police received a tip-off that drugs were being smuggled from Karnataka in trucks.
Police led by Deputy Commissioner Stalin were involved in the inspection and during the raid, 24 bundles of gutka worth Rs 1 lakh that were being smuggled in the truck were seized. Following this, the Ukkadam police have arrested Abbas and Jainullah Abudeen involved in the incident and are investigating them.
