DMK to protest tomorrow requesting rebuilding of Housing Units near Singanallur

DMK party members along with the public's support conducted a protest on December 13th last year regarding the same issue.

Coimbatore:

People reside at the Housing Units near Singanallur with constant fear of the roof falling down. With heavy damages to the wall the people have requested the officials to rebuild new houses for them.

DMK party members have decided to go on a protest tomorrow at 4pm in front of the Uzhavar Sandhai near Singanallur as a way to extend their support. Party members requested the officials to rebuild a housing unit quickly at the same location.

DMK East Coimbatore Secretary MLA Karthik met with the press at the DMK head office today. During the meet, MLA Karthik said that 960 apartments were built on 17.55 acres of land before 30 years by the Tamilnadu Housing Board.

These houses built over 30 years are now heavily damaged and are now in a very bad situation that the building may collapse anytime.

MLA Karthik during the press meet said that the people residing at the housing unit are affected by the damaged house. Karthik MLA then said that he emphasized about the damaged houses at the Tamilnadu legislative assembly sessions of 2016, 2017,2018,2019 and 2020 but no actions were taken regarding the issue raised.

Later he said that DMK party members along with the public's support conducted a protest on December 13th last year regarding the same issue.

DMK East Secretary Karthick MLA further added that no immediate action was taken even after Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam visited the people of the housing units and assured them that immediate action will be taken to resolve their issues. But the AIADMK government is now behaving in a way like the woes of these people are not of their least concern.

MLA Karthik then said that DMK party members along with the public are to participate in a protest tomorrow forcing the AIADMK government to immediately build new housing units at the same venue along with temporary houses for the residents in the housing units.

Later, MLA Karthik requested DMK senior officials, party workers and members of the alliance parties to participate in this protest
