Coimbatore: Minister SP Velumani 3 sites chosen to build international standard cricket stadium in Coimbatore.
The skating rink, which is located on an area of about one acre in the VOC Park area of Coimbatore, has been upgraded with facilities including coaches' restrooms, auditorium, toilets, drinking water facility, electric lights and rainwater harvesting at an estimated cost of Rs. 23 lakhs.
Speaking to the reporters Minister SP Velumani said, "The playground has been upgraded to allow safe skating. Children from Coimbatore have been participating and winning at the state level in skating. The kids who train here will definitely compete in the Olympics in the future. Three sites, including sites near Bypass and Bharathiar University, have been selected to set up an international standard cricket ground in Coimbatore."
