During his interaction with the media, Fire and Rescue Department Director Sylendra Babu said that "Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Department has been modernized and the new Fire Application will help the department work more efficiently."
Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Department Director Sylendra Babu said that the public can install the Fire application in their phones and can connect with the Fire and Rescue Department in times of crisis. He also requested the public to use the Fire application which helps in preventing fatalities.
Further during the media interaction Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Department Director Sylendra Babu said that the department has received over 21,000 calls regarding fires and have prevented things of worth ₹278 crores from burning down.He also said that the rescue department has received 30,000 rescue calls and have saved the lives of 2200 people.

Fire and Rescue Department Director Sylendra Babu said that with the department being modernized the officials are also trained to tactically handle any situation. He then said that a special rescue force is to be organised at Chennai Marina Beach to carry out the rescue process.
Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Department Director Sylendra Babu then said the vacant positions in the department will be filled quickly.
