Startups from Kongu region celebrate the festival of harvest at Kongunaatu Startup Pongal Vizha

Coimbatore: Kongunaatu Startup Pongal Vizha brought together startup entrepreneurs from the Kongu region to celebrate the festival of harvest, on Sunday.

As many as 250 entrepreneurs with their families from Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Karur and the Nilgiris districts gathered at the Clusters Institute of Media and Technology here on Sunday evening to celebrate community Pongal organised by Startup Payanam.

The celebrations began early in the evening with cultural events in form of tradition song and dance performances and traditional games in which entrepreneurs and their families took part with zeal. A startup company was invited to play the traditional parai at the venue that left the audience entertained.

The evening took a serious turn with a pattimanadaram (debate) moderated by V. Selva, Founder of Vilfresh and three entrepreneurs who spoke about why the digital mode is the best way to do business post the COVID-19 era and another three entrepreneurs presented their arguments, as to why the brick and mortar business model is the ideal way forward to do business after the corona virus crisis.

The DJ literally had the audience dance to his tunes and spinned a mix of tunes. A lavish buffet was served, a perfect way to conclude the evening. The entrepreneurs networked over some good food.
