Coimbatore: Rural Development Minister SP Velumani attended a meeting with the Coimbatore Corporation officials regarding the ongoing development works in Coimbatore.

During the meeting Minister for Rural Development SP Velumani said that "Under the guidance of late leader Jayalalithaa and under the effective ruling of Tamilnadu Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy, the Smart City Project works in Coimbatore are being executed. Under the Smart City project new schemes like drinking water supply, development of parks and roads, proper underground sewage pipes are being planned and executed by the corporation officials."
Rural Development Minister SP Velumani at the meeting asked the corporation officials to quickly wrap the development works for the public to make use of the recent developments efficiently.
He then ordered the respected authorities and department heads to conduct frequent inspections of the development sites.
Minister SP Velumani asked the corporation officials to quickly finish up the development projects in the 9 lakes across Coimbatore and also ordered quick completion of the Divan Bahadur road, Model Parking areas, 24*7 water supply scheme, Ukkadam solar energy plant and many other innovative people friendly projects in Coimbatore.
He further ordered the officials to lay new roads ward wise and asked about the pending works in the city.
Minister SP Velumani finally ordered the corporation authorities to complete the Smart City Project works a 100% sooner and to work with full force.
District Deputy Commissioner S Madhuranthagi, District Engineer A Lakshmanan and other Executive Engineers, Commissioners and Engineers and Assistant Engineers took part in this meeting.
