Fire breaks out in a private spinning mill near Palladam: Goods worth Rs 50 lakhs destroyed
Tirupur: A fire broke out at a private spinning mill near Palladam, destroying goods worth Rs 50 lakh. Manoj is from Kamanaickenpalayam area next to Palladam in Tirupur district. He and his friend Dhanapal used to run a spinning mill called Murugan Tex in the same area. More than 10 workers are employed in this mill.
The workers returned to work this morning after the two days of Pongal holidays. Suddenly a machine caught fire while the driver was working the machines as usual. Shocked by this, the workers immediately informed Manoj.
The Palladam police were then informed and the workers took water from a nearby tank and tried to extinguish the fire. But by then the fire had spread wildly. The cotton bundles and yarns there started to catch fire.

Following this, the fire department struggled for 2 hours to extinguish the fire.

Kamanaickenpalayam police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
