Coimbatore: People from various districts in Tamilnadu are happily celebrating the harvest festival of Pongal. As a part of the Pongal Celebrations this year, Pollachi Taluk Police Officials organised a "Samathuva Pongal" ceremony today at the R Ponnapuram village in Pollachi, Coimbatore.
People who participated in this "Samathuva Pongal Celebrations" took part with full inclusivity of caste and religion and with a celebration of brotherhood.
Pongal was made in new clay pots by the participants who shared it with the police officials present.
Pollachi Taluk Police Department Inspector Vijayan, Assistant Inspector Rajesh Kanna headed the event along with many other cops and locals from all communities.
Post the pongal celebrations, competitions were conducted for children who were then given gifts from the police department.
