Coimbatore reported a further decline in cases on Tuesday with the number of new Covid-19 cases going down to 59, taking the overall tally to 53,259 cases, as on Tuesday.
According to the District administration, 59 new cases have been reported in the city, without any fatalities, on Tuesday. The total death toll of Covid1-19 cases stands at 661 in Coimbatore.
Dean of ESI hospital, Dr.Nirmala told that at present there are 110 patients at the ESI hospital's Covid ward. Of which, 10 patients are under treatment at the ICU, while 30 patients are at step down ward. "Patients with co-morbidities, develop complications hence require intervention in the ICU. Majority of such patients have diabetes “ the Dean added.
Even few months back, City's ESI hospital saw a whopping number of Covid cases reaching over 700 active cases.
As of Tuesday, 728 people were discharged, while 672 are under treatment, including government and private hospitals in the district.
