'Centrism' will be our fundamental principle of alternative governance - MNM President Kamal Haasan in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Centrism will be the fundamental principle of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), said Kamal Haasan in a press meet in Coimbatore, on Wednesday.



Coimbatore: Centrism will be the fundamental principle of Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), said Kamal Haasan in a press meet in Coimbatore, on Wednesday.



While addressing the reporters in an interactive session, MNM party President, Kamal Hassan said, MNM will focus on providing undivided attention on all people from all walks of life. And, centrism will be the fundamental principle of our alternative governance, he added.

Pointing at the long pending developmental schemes in Coimbatore including Coimbatore International Airport expansion, he said his governance will pay focus on accomplishing them, as they are crucial factors in development of a city.

He added that due to time constraints and Covid restrictions, he has unable to hold an elaborate interactive session with the industrialists here. And, promised to visit them and hear their grievances, during his upcoming visit.



When questioned on alliance for the State assembly elections, the MNM President said they are yet to draw to a conclusion, however would officially announce on any critical developments.

He clarified that candidate selection for the state assembly elections will be based on the candidate's achievement and his profile, not based on his caste.

Kamal Haasan commended the Supreme Court's order regarding the farmers protest. "We are grateful and thank the apex court", he noted.
