Former minister and senior AIADMK leader PV Damodaran dies due to a lung infection in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Former minister and senior AIADMK leader PV Damodaran died due to a lung infection in Coimbatore. He was being treated for a lung infection at a private hospital for the past 15 days.
'Puratchi Thalaivar' MGR started the Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in 1972 as the constituency organizer and served as the union secretary of Sultanpet for 33 years. The party leaders recalled that with the blessings of 'Amma' Jayalalithaa he contested and won the Pongalur assembly constituency.
Later, he served as the Minister of Animal Husbandry and the Secretary of the Coimbatore Suburban District Council for four and a half years. He fed and helped every volunteer who came to meet him from across Tamil Nadu.
From the time AIADMK was begun until his demise, he has worked tirelessly through his humility. He was loyal to the Puratchi Thalaivar MGR, Puratchi Thalaivi Amma and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy throughout his life.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisamy, Deputy Chief Minister Panneer Selvam, Minister SP Velumani and all AIADMK MLAs have expressed their deep condolences and prayed to God for the peace of his soul. It has been announced that his funeral will take place tomorrow.
