Under the leadership of James, TACT members participated in a general body meeting in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Tamilnadu Handlooms and Small Scale Industrialists Union had a general meeting in Coimbatore. During this meeting various resolutions were taken by the members.
TACT's district leader James said that "Coimbatore is a district filled with more than 20,000 small industries and companies which run based on Job orders. About 2 lakh workers and their families are based on these companies."
He also said that "With Covid-19 pandemic and upsurge in the price of raw materials, there is a huge hit in the market for job orders. Small scale industries are more affected since they are unable to get any benefits from the Central Government's loan scheme."
James further added that " Government's decision to sanction basic loans to roadside vendors and nothing to small scale industrialists has affected the entire community. A scheme should be initiated for the small scale industrialists which sanctions loans from 5 lakhs and allows the industrialists to have a current account in the bank."

James said that, Central Government should immediately take action by forming a separate committee to fix the price for raw materials and should only levy 5% GST tax for all raw materials.
A commission should be formed which should monitor the price of raw materials.
James also requested the government to build a work space community for the small scale industrialists.
