Death threat to Coimbatore district education officer: Police deployed for security
Coimbatore: Over 100 people stormed the Coimbatore district primary education officer's office and threatened the officer following which police security was beefed up. The District Primary Education Office is located in the Coimbatore Town hall area. More than a hundred people who came here suddenly broke into the office and got into an argument with the officer. Usha, the district's primary education officer, lodged a complaint with the police. In it, a complaint was lodged against the headmaster of aided schools in the Singanallur area of Coimbatore for collecting school fees and defrauding several lakhs.
She added in the complaint that a special officer has been appointed to look into the complaint and more than a hundred members of the Parent Teachers Association have come to argue and threaten her not to take action against the headmaster. She further said that the office and its employees needed protection. Following this a large number of policemen had gathered in front of the District Primary Education Officers' Office. The incident caused a stir in the area.
