Hysterical one-sided lover kills girl's father and consumes poison in Coimbatore


Coimbatore: Man whose wife is a teacher was stabbed and killed on the spot near Coimbatore in broad daylight. His daughter's ex-boyfriend who hysterically attacked them has been admitted to hospital as he consumed poison after the attack.

According to police, the manager of a private company was stabbed to death in the Komarapalayam area of Sultanpet near Sulur. Charles John (age 62), a native of Komarapalayam, Sultanpet, near Sulur, worked as a manager for a coir manufacturing company in the same area. His wife, Celine, works as a teacher at Kodikkalpalayam Government School.

The two went to work as usual yesterday. Celine used to return home in the evening but Charles goes home for lunch. As Charles did not return for a long time after leaving for lunch, employees Ganesan and Thangaraj who got suspicious went home. As they went home they saw that the door was open and Charles laid dead in a pool of blood with stabs in the neck, chest and abdomen. They informed Sultanpet police and they arrived at the scene, seized Charles' body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital. Fingerprint experts were then called in and police have filed a case under Section 302 and are investigating the killers and the motive for the murder. The incident in which a company manager was killed while he was alone at home in broad daylight has caused a stir in the rural area surrounding the Sultanpet area.

The motive of murder according to the police is that Charles who has 2 daughters, one was married. It is said that Karthi (23) from the same area was one-sidedly in love with the second daughter. But Charles betrothed his daughter to someone else. Enraged by this, Karthi has killed Charles and then he then drank the poison he had and shared the information with his friends over the phone. Friends who came to the spot rescued Karthi and admitted him to Palladam Government Hospital. He was later admitted to Coimbatore Government Hospital for further treatment.
