Coimbatore: In two separate incidents in the Coimbatore, a boy commits suicide for being reprimanded by his mother and a 9th standard girl goes missing. Ponkodi Shanthi's son Rohit, 11, of Gandhiji Road near Sundarapuram, Coimbatore, was a 6th standard student in a local school. Rohit used to go fishing in the pond with his friends and go to play. His mother had warned him not to go.
Rohit, who went out yesterday, came home after a long time for which his mother scolded him again. After his mother left Rohit committed suicide by hanging himself in a room at home. When the mother returned home, she was shocked to find her son dead and cried. Upon information the police immediately rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Podanur police have registered a case under Section 174 and are conducting an investigation.
In another incident Jagan Raj's daughter Krishnapriya (age 15), is a 9th standard student in a private school in the area. Krishnapriya, who was at home yesterday, left saying that she was going to her friend's home. But as she did not return for a long time parents searched for her in relatives homes and in the neighborhood. The mother of the student later lodged a complaint with the Ramanathapuram police to find her daughter. Police have registered a case and are looking for the Krishna Priya who went missing mysteriously.
