MNM party flags removed ahead of Kamal"s visit to Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Party cadres of Makkal Needhi Maiam have alleged that party flags and poles placed at multiple points in the city welcoming their party head are being removed. Several attempts to contact the police personnel went in vain as none picked up calls, they further alleged.

An event tiled "Coimbatore Influencer Meet with Kamal Haasan" is scheduled to take place at Hotel Radisson Blu at 3 PM today. "In a bid to welcome our party head to Coimbatore, ahead of the elections, we had installed flags at multiple locations as per the guidelines. However, the flags at various places were removed by the police", said a MNM district executive committe member.

He went on to say said flags particularly kept in front of the hotel where themeeting is held and also the ones near Shivalaya theatre have been removed.

"Citing Covid protocol, the meeting scheduled to be held at Le Meridien hotel on Avinashi road was changed to Radisson Blu. Fearing huge response of youth and voters, permissions for our party meetings are purposefully denied", another party worker noted.

With just few hours for the meet to commence, the actions has kindled anger and unrest among MNM supporters.
