Flat owners at KG Garden City protest against builders for not providing basic amenities on time



Coimbatore: Hundreds of flat owners of KG Garden City by Town and City Devlopers apartments on Vedapatti road here gathered in front of the apartment complex, on Sunday, alleging the builder of deceiving them over basic amenities.

"We have been fighting for basic amenities like water and electricity for almost six years in a row", an enraged flat owner alleged. He added that even after six years, the builder is yet to hand over the maintenance to the association.



"Ever since the flats were handed over to the owners, there has been issues regardingelectricity and water lines. However, the builder got money from owners (950+ units) but not paid to TNEB", alleged another flat owner who complains of frequent power cuts in the nights.

He also recalled the trouble the families here had to undergo during nights, due to frequent power cuts. "There has been numerous days with no electricity throughout the night. And, when questioned the builders would come out with reckless and lame reasons.Such is our plight here", he lamented.



Another women pointed that uninterrupted water supply is a day dream at this apartment. All these years, our complaints regarding the same fell on deaf ears, as the builder come up with reasons of failure of motor pump, EB line fault etc.,

"However, repairing of such faulty lines will be done at their own convenience and never at the interest of the residents", she added.

"The builder who still controls the maintenance of the apartment charges Rs 900 for a 390sq flat and yet is reckless in providing basic amenities in an uninterrupted way", alleged protesting residents.



It may be recalled that is not the first time the flat owners of this property is out on the streets questioning the builder for allegedly not keeping their sale promises.
