Online gambling takes the life of yet another youth.
Tirupur: Elvin Fredrick, a youth from Tuticorin worked at a private concern in Avarampalayam Coimbatore.
Elvin who was addicted to online gambling was continuously losing money recently. He continued to play online gambling games even after Tamilnadu government's ban on online gambling.
Elvin is said to have lost around ₹7,64,000 in the online gambling platforms.
Worried and depressed about losing money Elvin commited suicide by jumping into the rail tracks between Tirupur - Vanjipalam.
Elvin who committed suicide 2 days ago was recovered by the railway police officials who then handed it over to the police authorities as there was difficulty in identifying the corpse.
Photo of the unidentified dead body was sent across to all police stations and later the Peelamedu police officials discovered that the dead man to be Elvin Fredrick with his photos from the missing persons list.
Elvin's body is now at the Tirupur government hospital for autopsy. His tragic death over losing money online has created panic amidst the public.
