Public lament pace of underground sewage water works in Coimbatore; motoring the city is a dreaded affair

Public request for immediate completion of projects across the city.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation is working on the underground water sewage scheme by digging up across the city. With sudden rains this week in Coimbatore, commute has become quite difficult in the city.

City people have requested the officials to increase the pace of the works which would help prevent further accidents from happening.

Development works were planned to begin in Coimbatore to make it a smart city but the city is not witnessing any development. Added to this, the AIADMK government has kickstarted several bridge works across the city at the same time which has badly affected city commuting. Despite general opposition from the public and opposition parties, bridge work has been started in Avinashi Road too.

Certain roads in the city are badly damaged due to the rains that four wheelers and two wheelers get stuck in between the roads causing traffic.

With the rains three days ago in Uppilipalayam, the pit which was opened for underground water sewage scheme is filled with rainwater and also made the surrounding area slippery causing accidents to commuters in the locality even after the corporation officials tried to solve the issue.

The locals are now requesting the corporation officials to finish the projects which began in August last year.
