Near Ukkadam, there is an old tree in front of the Pongaliyamman Temple at Kurichi kulam. One of its branches was on the verge of falling offon the road. Upon complaints from public, corporation removed the broken branch from the tree.
Heavy rains in Coimbatore last night caused damage in various places. As a precautionary measure, the corporation employees cut down the branch of the Peepal tree and removed it. The work affected traffic on the road from Kurichi to Ukkadam for more than an hour and caused a long queue of vehicles.
