The CBI yesterday arrested three people, including Pollachi AIADMK student wing secretary Arulanantham, in connection with the Pollachi sex case, which has caused a stir in Tamil Nadu. Following this, social organizations and the public have been demanding that stern action be taken against the arrested persons and key people acting as the backbone of the perpetrators in this case.
An all party consultative meeting was held in Pollachi today.
The meeting was attended by executives from various parties and social organizations including DMK, MDMK, Kongunadu People's National Party, Democratic Women's Association, Communist. At this meeting, resolutions including all the culprits involved in the Pollachi sex case should be given severe punishment, the CBI officials should arrest the key people behind the culprits in this case and also demanded that the police officers who acted leniently in the sex case and released the name and address of the victim to be investigated and action be taken.
The meeting also passed a resolution to hold a protest led by DMK MP Kanimozhi on the 10th in front of the Pollachi Gandhi statue demanding the arrest of key figures involved in the case.
