Corporation Officials arrested for involvement in bribery in Sundarapuram

Two corporation officials from Sundarapuram revenue office were arrested for their involvement in a corruption activity.


Coimbatore: Senthil Kumar from Sundarapuram visited the revenue office in the 97th ward to get a tax card for his newly constructed house.

During this process corporation officer Gavuis Moideen (45) asked Senthil Kumar a bribe of rupees ₹30,000 for getting a tax card.

Senthil Kumar who refused to bribe the officers was shouted at by the officials. Corporation officials then said that Senthil Kumar's house was built without following government's guidelines and said that parts of his house will be demolished if failing to pay the bribe.



After this Senthil Kumar agreed to pay a fine of ₹18000, during which the anti-corruption officials who were hidden in the area arrested corporation officials Gavuis Moideen and Dhanapal under corruption charges.
