District Collector inspects amidst heavy rains in city
Coimbatore: District Collector inspects waterlogged areas at midnight inCoimbatore. Due to the low pressure in the atmosphere yesterday at 7 pm, a sudden downpour began to fall across the city of Coimbatore. The public who waited for a few hours for the rain to settle were shocked as the rainfall became heavier as time went by and affected their daily routine.
Coimbatore District Collector Rajamani, who wanted to inspect the situation at midnight in the city due to continuous rains. He visited the Sanganur Canal area, Avinashi Road flyover, Trichy Road, Nanjundapuram Road, Government Hospital area, Railway Station area and Ukkadam Periyakulam at 1 am in the midnight and inspected the impact of the rain in person. As it was still raining he held an umbrella and inspected the rain affected areas.



He then met with reporters and said, "I have come in person to know the situation in the city due to the continuous heavy rains. An order has been issued by the Revenue Department, the District Administration, and on the orders of the Minister and Corporation Administration to immediately evacuate the people in the lower areas to safety. Orders have been issued for the electricity department and the fire department has been stepped up in case of emergencies. People who may be affected by the rains can contact the district administration immediately. We look forward to providing immediate relief and assistance. The fire department and police are also kept on standby for immediate assistance."
