Coimbatore: In separate incidents two women died by consuming poison and sfire accident in Coimbatore. Police have registered a case and are investigating.

According to the police, Arokianathan (54), a carpenter, is from Podanur, Ganesapuram, Coimbatore. His wife is Mariapushpam (50) and has 3 children. The last few days there were several disagreements between husband and wife. Frustrated by this Mariapushpam consumed poison yesterday when no one was at home. When her husband came back he saw that Mariapushpam had died after consuming poison. Following this, the Podanur police were informed and they arrived at the scene, they recovered Mariapushpam's body and sent it to Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. Podanur police have registered a case under Section 174 and are conducting an investigation.

Ramzan Ali's wife Shabana (29) from Raja Street near Ganapathy in Coimbatore was at home yesterday when she was cooking on a kerosene stove. Then unexpectedly Shabana Banu's dress caught fire. In the blink of an eye the fire spread throughout her body and unable to bear the pain she screamed. Neighbors rushed to the spot and rushed Shabana Banu to the Coimbatore Government Hospital but she died tragically this morning succumbing to injuries. Saravanampatti police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
