Coimbatore: IT graduate self-immolates on the road after failing to secure a job after one year of job hunt in Coimbatore. Ravichandran is from Thondamuthur, Sulur area and his son Vishnu (age 25) has been looking for a job for the past one year after completing his IT under graduation.
As he couldn't find a suitable job he was depressed. Yesterday Vishnu left the house saying that he was going to his grandfather’s house. Then when he went near the Kempanurpirivu he bought petrol at the petrol station in the area and walked away. Then on the way out of frustration he suddenly poured that petrol on his body and immolated himself.
Vishnu could not bear the pain as the fire spread all over his body. Hearing his screams, the public in the neighborhood ran and put out the fire. He was later rescued and admitted to a private hospital for treatment. There he died tragically succumbing to injuries. Thondamuthur police have registered a case under Section 174 and are conducting an investigation. The incident is said to have saddened the people in the area.
