Coimbatore: Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi Deputy General Secretary met with Minister SP Velumani to press for few demands. At this meeting, they requested that prisoners who have been serving life sentences for the last 22 years in Tamil Nadu jails should be released without any caste or religion discrimination and the prisoners who have not been released as ordered by the High Court should be released immediately.
Coimbatore: Manithaneya Jananayaga Katchi Deputy General Secretary met with Minister SP Velumani to press for few demands. At this meeting, they requested that prisoners who have been serving life sentences for the last 22 years in Tamil Nadu jails should be released without any caste or religion discrimination and the prisoners who have not been released as ordered by the High Court should be released immediately. The Deputy General Secretary addressed the Minister on various demands including their current political status.

After hearing the full request, the Minister informed the MJK officials that he would bring this to the Chief Minister's notice and take appropriate action. The meeting was attended by District Secretary MH Abbas, District Treasurer TMS Abbas, Deputy District Secretary AT Faduruddin, District Executive Committee Member Ameer Abbas, Prisoners Welfare Coordinator Abdul Fazid, and the families of the inmates.
It is to be noted that in a very short time the Minister SP Velumani gave permission to meet them on their way to Sabarimala. The Minister requested them to leave after eating and arranged food for all those who came to visit.
