After receiving a secret tip, anti-corruption police officials conducted a raid at the zonal checkpoint at the border of Coimbatore - Kerala. It is said that during the raid the police seized around 51,080 rupees which was not accounted for.
Coimbatore: After receiving a secret phone tip, anti-corruption police officials conducted a raid at the zonal checkpoint at the border of Coimbatore - Kerala.
Anti-corruption officials under DSP Ganesh Pandian conducted this search around 6.30 pm at the first traffic checkpoint in Coimbatore which is on the way from Kerala.
During the raid an amount of 51,080 which did not have any receipt for was seized by the officials.
Post this the anti-corruption officials are now investigating Traffic Inspector Ramalingam, Junior assistant Padma, Retired traffic officer Gopalakrishnan.
The anti-corruption officials conducted the search after receiving a phone call tip which said that vehicles passing through the area are continuously stopped and are asked to bribe the officers at the checkpost.
This incident has created panic in the area and the anti-corruption officials are now involved in continuous raids at multiple checkposts.
