Family members applaud the police for rescuing mentally ill person who attempted suicide
Coimbatore: In Coimbatore, a mentally ill person was stopped by a policeman who saw him attempting suicide. He started talking to him and changed his suicidal thoughts. The police realized that he was mentally ill and handed him over safely to his family. The family who were in tears thanked the police.
Chief Constable Prabhu, who was on patrol, immediately rushed to the spot after receiving information that there was a man who was intending to jump into the Aliyar Dam in Coimbatore district. After he rescued him upon interrogation it was revealed that he was from Pollachi and had tried to commit suicide due to depression. Following this, his wife was informed and the man was handed over safely. The wife who was in tears thanked the police man for rescuing her husband safely
