Four persons, including Thirunavukarasu, the main accused in the Pollachi sex case, are lodged in the Salem jail. Thirunavukarasu had been suffering from swelling in his genitals for the last one week. In this condition he has been admitted to Salem Government Hospital for treatment with heavy police security.
The main accused in the Pollachi sex case, who was lodged in the Salem jail, was admitted to the hospital due to ill health. The incident in which a large number of young girls were sexually abused in Pollachi and intimidated by taking pornographic photos and videos of them had caused great shock. Thirunavukarasu, Sabarirajan, Vasanthakumar, Satish and Manivannan were arrested and jailed in this connection. The case is being investigated by the CBCID police. All 5 of them were arrested under the Goondas Act. The repeal of the case from legal section came as a great shock to the public as it was an organized crime.
