DMK and ADMK members clash over Facebook posts about Minister SP Velumani; 2 DMK members arrested for assault

Coimbatore: Two DMK members from Coimbatore had posted about why Minister SP Velumani had not taken action during the Pollachi scandal on Facebook. A clash broke out between the AIADMK and the DMK near the police station in Madukkarai due to this. Police immediately intervened and negotiated the situation. They then filed a case against the two DMK members and arrested them for assaulting the AIADMK members.

They then filed a case against the two DMK members and arrested them for assaulting the AIADMK members.



According to the police, Rafiq (42) hails from Madukkarai, Coimbatore. The AIADMK member was standing near the Madukkarai police station yesterday afternoon.



As per police information, “Salman Khan (29), a DMK student wing organizer from Madukkarai, and his brother Sharook Khan (25), were there at the time, and were questioned by AIADMK’s Rafi about posting insulting information on Facebook about Minister SP Velumani. Then allegedly Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan attacked Rafiq. The AIADMK gathered in front of the police station in support of him.

Similarly, the DMK also gathered in the area and caused a stir in the area. Following this, the police negotiated between the two. Salman Khan and Sharook Khan were charged with assault and were arrested and jailed.
