Post Covid-19 lockdown, Valparai has now been getting visitors from all-around the world.
Coimbatore: Valparai in Coimbatore district has started to attract more visitors recently which has impacted the economy of Valparai. Valparai MLA Kasthuri Vasu said "With the upsurge of tourists from across the country the government has decided to implement new tourist attractions and destinations like boating, botanical garden etc."

As a part of the development plans the land belonging to the PWD in Kamarajar Nagar, a botanical garden under a budget of ₹5.5 crores is all under progress built under the leadership of Rural Development Minister SP Velumani, Valparai MLA Kasthuri Vasu and Valparai Municipality Commissioner K Pavunraj.

MLA Kasthuri Vasu also said that the botanical garden is planned to have a locker room, shade standee and modern toilet facilities at the entrance. She also said that the process of building these is expected to be completed by March and the government of TamilNadu is focusing on completing the dream project for the locals ASAP.
