Hindu Temples under HR&CE to remain closed during New Year eve!

In a statement the department officials said that temples were opened at midnight75 years back due to the orders of British rule back then which also had angered a lot of local publics.


Coimbatore: Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department of Tamilnadu has made an official announcement that temples will not be open at midnight today to celebrate the English New Year.

This announcement comes after the Hindu Munnani party's announcement on a temple lock protest in which the party members will go on a protest locking the main doors of temples which are open at midnightagainst the Government rules and Hindu beliefs.

In a statement the department officials said that temples were opened at midnight 75 years back due to the orders of British rule back then which also had angered a lot of local publics.

Tamilnadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments department also said that the temples will not be open as part of the government's orders. The officials also said that temples will be open for extra duration during the day tomorrow for the convenience of the pilgrims.
