Residents continue to protest against TASMAC despite heavy rains in Tirupur

Residents continued to protest in heavy rains even after the police officials tried to convince them to dissolve their gathering.

Tirupur: Residents of Chellam Nagar, Tirupur decided to siege the government tasmac shop numbered 1965 in the area after getting no response from the officials on their numerous petitions.

Residents had earlier complained that due to the tasmac shop in their area, drunkards roam on the streets which is a safety threat for the women, school going children and other people of the nearby areas.

Despite the heavy rains that showered in Tirupur today, the public continued their protest to evacuate the tasmac shop while continuing to get drenched

Police officials who arrived at the location requested the public to disperse to which the residents said that they will dissolve this protest only after getting a signed assurance which agrees to the removal of the tasmac shop.
