Coimbatore: Anti-corruption police and vigilance police raided and seized Rs. 1 lakh of unaccounted money at Coimbatore Primary Education Office. The Primary Education Office is located in the Townhall, Coimbatore. The office was reported to the Anti-Corruption and Vigilance Police for accepting bribes to renew the licenses of schools.

Following this, the police, including Inspector Arumugam, led by Anti-Corruption and Vigilance Department Deputy Superintendent Ganesan, raided the office of the District Primary Education Officer at around 8 last night.

Following this they inspected the camp office of Primary Education Officer Usha at Race Course in Coimbatore. Inspection revealed that there was Rs. 1 lakh of unaccounted cash. The money was confiscated by the police and on investigation it was alleged that the bribe was paid for a New Year's gift and a school license renewal. Police are continuing to investigate further into the issue.
