One week old newborn boy wrapped in a cloth bag thrown on the road was recovered dead in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: One week old newborn boy wrapped in a cloth bag and thrown on the road was recovered dead in Coimbatore. Thennampalayam village near Sulur in Coimbatore district serves as the Coimbatore-Kochi National Highway service road. Everyone from that area uses the service road to come to Coimbatore. As usual this morninga large number of people from the area were going to and fro by walking and in vehicles. Locals noticed a cloth bag that lay on the roadside. Out of suspicion the locals picked up the bag and saw a dead newborn in it. Shocked by this, they informed the Sulur police about the incident.
Upon information police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and investigated. Police said the newborn boy, whose body was recovered during the investigation, was just a week old. They are also investigating whether the person who threw the child on the road and killed him, as he was born out of an illegal affair. Since there are plenty of private hospitals in the area where the body was recovered police are also investigating whether any child had gone missing there.
