I will resign only if allegations against me by DMK are proved: Minister SP Velumani
Coimbatore: Minister SP Velumani said he will resign only if allegations against him by DMK are proved. Minister SP Velumani, who inaugurated the Amma Mini Clinic in the Ratnapuri area of Coimbatore, spoke to reporters. He said “the Chief Minister has announced a Pongal gift of Rs 2,500 during the Coronavirus, which will benefit more than 10 lakh family card holders in the Coimbatore district. Even if Stalin tries to prevent Rs. 2500 being distributed for Pongal prize he will ensure that it reaches the people.”
He also said that MK Stalin was claiming to have a Ph.D. and making unfulfilled promises. He said there was no problem in MK Stalin holding a Village Council meeting in Thondamuthur constituency as per the rules and said that actress Vindhya and Minister Rajendra Balaji would attend the AIADMK meeting in Thondamuthur on the 3rd for retaliation. He said he was ready to resign if the DMK proved the allegations of corruption against him. He also questioned if Stalin would resign and provide opportunities for senior executives.
He accused the DMK of collaborating with the then central government to massacre Sri Lankan Tamils and he also blamed the DMK for various problems, including the fishermen's issue and the Kachchatheevu issue.
He said "I would continue to make plans for the people of Coimbatore as long as I hold office. I advise the DMK to do something good for the people other than spreading false propaganda and to spread slander. Question about the Chief Ministerial candidate was unnecessary. The Chief Ministerial candidate of the AIADMK is Edappadi Palanisamy."
