Coimbatore: Jaikarthick of Hindu Munnani in a press release said that a protest will happen if temples are kept open at midnight on January 1st.

He said that certain temple venues are kept open at midnight which is against the Hindu traditions and now against thegovernment regulations. He also said that the temples are kept open on Hindu new year's eve on January 1st for their commercial interests.

S Jaikarthick also said that Hindu Munnani warns against such happenings and that if any temple continue to open their doors at midnight on January 1st a new protest will be held against it.

He also said that under the new protest the main gates of the temples will be closed which does not follow procedures.

S Jaikarthick from Hindu Munnani also requested the district government officials and city police to look into the matter of opening temples at midnight.
