Good news: Trade Fairs to start in CODISSIA; Covid Care centre removed

After a very long time trade fairs are set to begin at the CODISSIA trade fair centre in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: After a very long time trade fairs are all set to begin at the CODISSIA trade fair centre in Coimbatore.

'CODISSIA' trade fair centre established at Avinashi road is a world class permanent venue for trade fair's. There are five Halls in the venue A, B, C, D, E.

Various fairs can be witnessed throughout the year. Due to pandemic outbreak, this year after March no events were held.

Based on the request by the district administration, Three halls were temporarily handed over for setting up the Covid Care Centre.

Since the infection rate has reduced in the city, the district administration has removed the covid care center and after disinfection, it has been handed over to the CODISSIA members.

On the other side the association has geared up to conduct the trade fairs for the upcoming year in 2021. Works have now began for the AGRI EXPO this expected to begin in the month of July.

Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (CODISSIA) President, M. V. Ramesh Babu said,"Totally three halls namely B, D, E were temporarily handed over for establishing Covid care centre. Now that the district administration has disinfected and handed over B, C halls to us we are planning to renovate it for the upcoming Agri Expo. The authorities have kept 'D' hall on hold for emergency situation."

Further CODISSIA Assosiation president Ramesh Babu said that since the situation has turned far better for conducting fairs the AGRI Expo is expected to happen in the month of July.

He also said that this would be the first event followed by many fair's held at CODISSIA. He also added that each year during December shopping festivals would have been conducted but unfortunately this year it's been cancelled.
