The railway police officials have arrested the thief for pickpocketting and later sent him to prison after producing him at the district court.
Coimbatore: Naveed (35) a mechanic from Vaniyambadi reached Coimbatore from Bangalore day before yesterday. Naveed after reaching the station went to the reservation counter a d was waiting in line to book tickets for his return journey.
He later found that the phone from his pocket was missing and did a thorough search. Since he couldn't find his phone, Naveed filed a complaint on this incident with the railway police.
The railway police who investigated the case checked the CCTV camera footage and found Naveed's phone being stolen by a someone who was standing very close to him.
Police officials under Sub-inspector Murugan during their search found the same person who stole Naveed's phone standing at the 2nd platform. The police officials then arrested the man who later to be revealed as Kadar Meeran (36) from Aranthangi, Pudukkottai.
