Coimbatore: Lorry carrying cotton caught fire as it brushed against a electricity line causing sparks. A lorry belonging to Easwaran from Uthukkuli came to a private cotton mill in Irugur carrying cotton bundles.
Vadivelu, the lorry driver, turned to go back to Uthukkuli as he did not want cotton bundles. Then, unexpectedly, the truck caught fire as it rubbed against a nearby power line.
Upon information 15 firefighters in two fire trucks led by Station Officer Gopal from Sulur and Peelamedu fire stations put out the fire. By then more than half of the truck had burned and been damaged.
