Coimbatore: Review meeting on development works and drinking water project works under Smart city project was held in Coimbatore Corporation.

During this review meeting, various development works under smart city projects in Coimbatore Corporation such as improvement of ponds, construction of parks, construction of roads, construction of underground sewers and supply of drinking water that are being carried out. He inspected the ongoing works on parks, children's parks, playgrounds, street lights and sidewalk and improvement of ponds in the heart of Coimbatore such as Ukkadam, Periyakulam, Valangulam, Muttannankulam.
The Corporation Commissioner later inquired about the construction of model roads under the Smart city project. He inspected the electrical works, flashing billboards and telecommunications facilities on the model road which are designed to go underground and the modern lighting facilities that are to be set up along the sidewalks. He also inspected the sewerage and sewage disposal systems and the completed works in the Coimbatore Corporation. He inspected the works in Ukkadam Periyakulam, Valangulam, Selva Chinthamani Kulam, Krishnamurthy Kulam, Selvambathi, Kumaraswamy kulam, Singanallur pond and Kurichi kulam. He inspected the work of providing 24 hour drinking water in Coimbatore Corporation and inquired about the construction of model roads and multi-level car parking on DB Road, RS puram.
Later, he inquired about the work being done on the model road on the Race Course road and the microbial composting centers. Ward wise drinking water supply works are being carried out in the corporation and he inspected the construction of rainwater harvesting structures in houses to store rainwater during the rainy season. He asked the concerned officers to complete all the work on time.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner S. Maduranthagi, City Engineer A. Lakshmanan, Project Engineers Gnanavelu, (Smart City) Saravanakumar, (24X7 Drinking Water Project) Parvathy, All Zonal Engineers, Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Officers.
