Coimbatore: DMK MLA N. Karthik said that the protest will be held as per plan in front of City Commissioner's office. Coimbatore Singanallur DMK MLA Karthik met reporters at the DMK office in Tatabad. Speaking at the time, he said that the Coimbatore district police were planning to block public meetings, village council meetings and demonstrations on behalf of the DMK in Coimbatore, but AIADMK were holding public meetings in various places without permission and were also erecting large banners.
He accused DMK members of being arrested and falsely prosecuted for protesting. He added that police have stopped DMK members in the borders of the city and prevented them from joining the protest.
He said, "The protest will be held in front of the Coimbatore City Commissioner's Office this eveningas planned to condemn this. Protests would continue in Coimbatore if the police register such false cases against the DMK."
