Coimbatore: A government bus got stuck in a pit dug to lay a pipe. Government bus S26 operates on the Nanjundapuram to Maruthamalai route in Coimbatore.



When it was on the way to Marudhamalai with the passengers this morning, while passing through RS Puram area, it got stuck in a pit dug to lay the pipe as it was not properly covered with soil. When Anthony, the driver, tried to move the bus with the front wheel stuck in the soil, the vehicle got stuck deeper in the hole.

Following this, driver Anthony and conductor Thangaraj informed the higher authorities about this. As the vehicle got stuck, the passengers were sent by an alternative bus. Officers who arrived at the scene on information recovered the bus using a private JCB. The government bus getting stuck as the pit to set upfor laying pipelines not being closed properly caused heavy traffic jams.
