Public petition to the Chief Minister to permanently remove toll charges
Coimbatore:The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu arrived in Coimbatore by air from Chennai this evening. From there he was going to leave for Salem by road.
At that time, the people of Kaniyur village near Sulur came together and submitted a petition to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. According to the petition, they requested the toll to be waived for the general public in the vicinity of 20 km of the Kaniyur toll gate in the Sulur district by order of the Tamil Nadu government.
Now the toll company has announced that the toll will be collected again from January 1. People from several walks of life such as traders, small and marginal farmers, and handloom weavers. They requested to continue to provide the free tollgate provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu to the people living within a radius of 20 km around the Kaniyur tollgate. The petition stated that the public would benefit from all possible small and medium traders in the area. After receiving the petition, the Chief Minister assured that action would be taken.
